Carrie Moore has spent more than two decades guiding universities through the complex world of enterprise technology--first inside large institutions and later as a senior-level consultant for Workday and other enterprise technology solutions.
Through every project, one truth remains...
technology only succeeds when people feel supported.
Carrie's experience and results from creating a positive, supportive approach to technology transformation led her to found Groundswell Transformations, a consultancy dedicated to helping colleges and universities embrace change with clarity, confidence, and heart.
Groundswell Transformations isn't a big firm with a big firm agenda. It is Carrie, supported by a carefully chosen network of collaborators, bringing independent, research-backed strategy with a personal touch. Your success IS the most important KPI.
Decades of experience ensure actionable strategies and measurable results.
Curiosity, optimism, and teamwork drive every engagement.
Processes and technology should enable people, not overwhelm them.
Purpose-driven and tenacious. From her early days at the University of Pennsylvania to leadership roles at Penn State, Marymount University, and global consulting firms such as Huron and Collaborative Solutions, Carrie has led or advised on multi-million-dollar digital transformation initiatives.
A practical curiosity. Carrie earned her undergraduate degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, a Master's in Enterprise Architecture from Penn State, and participated in the MIT AI Strategy and Leadership Program. Her ongoing commitment to learning provides fresh perspectives, balancing proven tools with opportunities for innovation.
A heart for higher education. Two decades of experience at higher education institutions gave Carrie deep business and technical expertise. Her insider's understanding of the challenges that campus leaders face drives her purpose for helping institutions operate with efficiency and opportunity.
Beyond consulting. In addition to advising higher education institutions, Carrie coaches consultants, higher education technologists, and leaders through career transitions, drawing on her own path from finance to enterprise architecture to international consulting. She serves as an adjunct faculty member in the Penn State College of Information Sciences and Technology, teaching graduate-level course work in Enterprise Security and Risk Analysis and Cybersecurity Project Management.
Whether guiding a campus ERP project or helping an individual develop their career, she helps clients see the possibilities and take the next bold step.
Carrie absolutely exemplifies impact...she never hesitates to speak out with helpful information or prompts to facilitate discussion and problem-solving. Her strong experience comes through time and again when navigating project challenges. She also demonstrates teamwork and organizational commitment by effectively communicating early and often at all levels.
- Functional Lead
When I joined the project, it was revealed that the client was undergoing a job architecture redesign while in Parallel testing. Frankly speaking, if I were in Carrie's role at the time, I would have likely indicated that implementing such a change so late in the project would not be feasible. Carrie proceeded to put together a detailed mini project plan and the team was able to deliver. Carrie's vision and leadership was key in the client's ability to go live on time.
- Solution Architect
- Executive Sponsor
Carrie has excellent competency in the Workday product SKUs in her area. She marries the product knowledge with the operational activities and expected outcomes once Workday is deployed and brings the reality of the product to life for her clients. She is a team player with her client and internal team to focus on outcomes--a solution finder and clear communicator of status and blockers to progress.
- Project Director
Simply put, the HCM workstream and overall project would not have been a success if not for Carrie's leadership, technical knowledge, client service focus, and perhaps most importantly, patience! Carrie was also my co-project manager, stepping into the role on as needed basis...Carrie was a fantastic collaborator, and 'voice of reason,'...Carrie is beloved by both client and internal resources and is a huge asset!
